Hello!
I’m Debba Pearce, a self-taught, mixed media artist fascinated with blending different materials and colors to create unique and expressive artworks. I specialize in alcohol inks which give me a sense of looseness, freedom and creativity.
After painting realistically in watercolors and soft pastels, I began feeling a sense of confinement and tightness and was looking for more movement and flexibility in my work. I stumbled across alcohol inks and immediately said “I want to do that"! I was drawn to the spontaneity, originality and freedom of working with inks. No two pieces are alike. You never know what the inks are going to do! I find that both challenging and liberating at the same time.
When I’m not in my studio, I’m in my garden, riding my bike, reading or spending time with family.
